Etcetera Slams Iyanya, Wizkid,& Dbanj calls them liars

Etcetera is at it again on slamming and blasting Nigerian celebrities and this time he comes for Iyanya, Wizkid, & Dbanj calls them below

Again, I’m going to go out on a limb here to talk on a subject that may not be very popular or nice to Nigerian celebs, especially the guilty ones. I have said it severally that just because someone is a celebrity doesn’t mean they are smart. They may have a talent or skill but many of them are not smart especially when it involves their finances. The old saying, “your lies will come back to haunt you” has never been more true than the recent cases of D’banj, Iyanya and Wizkid who are being kicked out of their homes after lying they owned the properties.

The residents of blogosphere boulevard were stunned when the news broke that D’banj got an eviction notice from his landlord and was also said to be highly indebted. Yes, it is hard to believe that someone of D’banj’s status could actually be thrown out of his house. But for those who know that the Nigerian entertainment industry is built on lies and more lies, it didn’t come as a surprise or a case of a cranky landlord. Entertainers are well rehearsed liars. They are not what they make you believe they are. Even the upcoming artist with just one song on radio issues a press release that they’ve bought a mansion in Lekki Phase One and a Range Sport SUV?

There was a time when it was strongly whispered that Don Jazzy and his crew owned Club Jonzing until the truth came out. You must have also heard that D’banj owns Koko Lounge. My brothers and sisters in habit of believing everything you hear, I wish you all knew how your favourite celebs laugh in their closet seeing you swallow the lies like fufu and draw soup. Let me give an example of how some artistes can be terrible liars, we were on a tour of five Nigerian cities with Basketmouth and his then Humour Unlimited monthly show sponsored by BAT.

When we got to Enugu, a certain artiste was snoring like a broken trailer exhaust pipe in the bus on our way from the event centre to the hotel. I tapped him hoping to stir him up to reduce his noise but I was shocked when he woke up immediately swearing that he wasn’t snoring, that he was only trying to get our reaction. Our reaction? After snoring for about 20 minutes with a trail of saliva from one corner of his mouth to his shirt collar! O’boy some people can lie in Africa.

Did you hear it on breaking news when Iyanya bought a house in his dreams? His management must have thought it was a fantastic promo strategy then. If only they knew that not far into the future, Iyanya would be dragged by his balls across the floor of the internet, and that his aggrieved brother would take to twitter to inform everyone that Iyanya had been evicted (not from Project shame) from his dream mansion. Yes, it is double wahala for deadi-bodi and the owner of deadi-bodi but won’t it be tripple wahala for Oritsefemi and his management when fans eventually discovered that the N200m mansion he purportedly bought some months back was actually bought in his dreams and not in the real world?

How much does he charge per gig and how long has he been playing these gigs to be able to afford a mansion of that amount? Isn’t it wonderful how naija entertainers think their fans and everyone else is shallow and gullible? Common sense should tell every artiste that these lies won’t achieve anything but hurt their careers in the long run when the truth is eventually revealed. Like it was revealed this week that Wizkid’s car hasn’t been paid for.

True, some naija musicians make a lot of money, but not the kind of money they want you to believe. Does Oritsefemi look the part of a N200m house owner even with all his body cream? The telco brand ambassadors who are being coerced into lying about their endorsement fees can’t make such a preposterous claim not to talk of someone with no endorsement deal. I shivered when I saw in some blogs over the week that Genevieve just bought a house in Ghana for a whopping $4m.
This will go down as the grandmother of all lies told so far. Genny baybay, you should have asked yourself if there’s any house worth $4m in the whole of Ghana, except you bought the Ghana National Theatre which by the way may not be worth $4m. These lies are getting dumber by the day. The worst thing that can happen to any man is believing his own lies. If we had a system where entertainers are taxed for their acquisitions, the ridiculous and unnecessary lies will stop. They will speak the truth and nothing but the truth or so help them God.

Terry G Tells Reasons Why He is Not getting Any Endorsement

Terry G during an interview with Punch revealed that reasons why he is not getting any endorsement is because he refused to change his brand. Read below.....

On Marriage
It will happen very soon but it takes planning and much more. Ironically, I am facing a lot of pressure regarding marriage but it is not from either of our families. The pressure is from outsiders. I want to work hard and be stable. I want to work to the extent that I would not rely on music because I do music for fun. Everybody knows that she lives with me and I am already living like a married man.
Why do you like being controversial?
It is what sells. I am not the rave-of –the –moment artiste but I am still very relevant in the industry and it is because I am controversial. I love the controversy. I like making people talk.
People are of the opinion that since you became a father, you have calmed down in your lifestyle, do you agree to that?
Yes it is true. Anybody that has a child must calm down, it is a general thing. Once you have a child, you must become a responsible man. That is when people would know that the madness is deliberate and it is just being done to make money. My son is a British citizen and he is going back to school in London in March. This is to show people that I know what I am doing. The craziness is what puts food on my table and money in my bank accounts. There are people that support and love it.
Back then, you pierced your entire face, why did you eventually remove the studs on your face?
I stopped because I already set the pace and everybody is piercing now. I will still do something that they will follow.
What is the most expensive fashion item you own?
It is my jewellery but I cannot say the amount I bought it for security reasons. They are investments and even my earring is gold.
What kind of clothes do you feel most comfortable in?
I love looking hip-hop. Dressing is a style and there are so many reasons I am not on a billboard. I will not cut my hair for any reason neither would I change my brand. I cannot lose this image because of my fans and I love them so much.
Why do you like wearing bright coloured clothes?
I like flashy colours because of the kind of shoes I wear. I like blue, red, and green. I like colours a lot but I do not like pink. I believe pink and purple are colours for homosexuals
What fashion item can you not leave home without?
That would be my jewellery. They call me Mr. Bling Bling, I started it.
What is the biggest fashion mistake you have made?
There was a time I put different colours on my hair at once. My hair was multi-coloured and I looked like a masquerade. It had yellow, green and red. That was a big fashion regret but I just wanted people to talk about my brand. I just started out back then.
Since you portray craziness with your brand, can you do that hairstyle again?
Never, God forbids.

It’s that time of the year everyone is looking forward to. Little teddy bears smile out from shop windows, florists go on overdrive and women all over Nigeria are going on diets to prepare themselves for the onslaught of chocolates and other goodies that will come their way on February 14th. Valentine’s day is few hours from now and the retail world is gearing up for the extravaganza that is sure to ensue.

Apart from the fact that Valentine’s Day is like Christmas in Lagos, here are some fun facts about it, as per a survey from Kaymu, Africa’s #1 online shopping community, conducted across 500 participants from its consumer base.

40% of women would break up with their boyfriend if they didn’t get them a present on Valentine’s Day. 40% also stated that they would buy presents for their friends as well as their Valentine.

70% of the participants would spend $50 or lower on their Valentine’s Day present and date, 20% would spend between $50 and $100 and 10% would spend over $100.

Interestingly enough, 50% of those surveyed were open to shopping for their Valentine’s Day present online and 50% were not.

Contrary to popular belief, 90% of those surveyed wanted to stay in on Valentine’s Day as opposed to going out. 90% of the participants also declared that they would not wear red on the occasion.

70% of those surveyed said they would buy themselves a present on Valentine’s Day and 80% were comfortable with being single on Valentine’s Day.

60% were open to proposing to their significant others on Valentine’s Day while the same percentage of people believed that Valentine’s Day is overrated.

Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is definitely here to stay, so buy some cupcakes and brace yourself for this Saturday!

Woman Pays Patron N20,000 to Deal with Ex-Lover

The police in Lagos have arrested a 32-year-old woman, Janet Effiong, for allegedly conniving with a suspected robber to attack a cab driver, who was allegedly her ex-lover and who had cheated on her.
Effiong was arrested along with a robbery suspect, Femi Talabi, who helped her to carry out the operation.

They were arrested on Airport Road, near Ajao Estate, in the Isolo area of Lagos on Saturday, February 7, at about 7.30pm by policemen attached to the Rapid Response Squad.

Our correspondent learnt that Effiong, who owned a restaurant in the VGC area of Lekki, had hired Talabi, who was one of her patrons, for N20,000 to attack her ex-lover, identified simply as Murphy.

Talabi had allegedly agreed to get two more men, and had collected N10, 000 as advance payment from Effiong.

Punch Metro learnt that on the day of the incident, Talabi reportedly contacted Murphy, who worked as a cab driver, to take him to Ajao Estate, with the intention of carrying out the attack on the road.
It was, however, gathered when Talabi brought out a toy gun to threaten his victim, the RRS policemen swooped on the two men and got Talabi arrested.

Effiong, who hailed from Uruan, Akwa Ibom State, said she hired Talabi to deal with her ex-lover because Murphy forced her to abort her pregnancy on two occasions and later abandoned her for other women.

She said, “I contacted Femi (Talabi) to help me deal with my former lover. Murphy and I had been dating since 2012. I lavished money on him, thinking he would marry me. He even borrowed N200, 000 from me and failed to pay back.
“He also impregnated me on two occasions and he forced me to abort them. I insisted I would not abort the third one, and he promised to take care of the baby. But it was a lie.
“So, I hired Femi to trace him and beat him up. Femi said he would get two other friends to do the job. I did not know he would go alone. I promised to pay Femi N20,000.
“I did not plan to kill my lover. I only wanted to punish him for neglecting me for other women.”
Also, 35-year-old Talabi who hails from Epe, Lagos, said the cab driver became suspicious as he wanted to attack him and a physical fight started during which attracted the policemen that arrested him and his victim.

He said,
“I live in the Bariga area, but work as an Air conditioner technician in Lekki. I am not a cultist. It was Janet (Effiong) who contacted me to do a job for her. I knew her as a restaurant manager. She said the man was her ex-lover and had abandoned her.
“I called him to take me in his cab to a destination on Airport Road, Isolo, where the attack would take place. I was to pay him N7,000 for the trip. Janeth told me to only assault, and not to kill him. While in the cab, I lied that I wanted to ease myself and he stopped. When he did, I brought out a toy gun and wanted to hit him on the head, but a fight started and we as were struggling with each other, the police found out, and they arrested both of us.”

UK Telegraph reports;
Hospital administrator Rachel Gow, 29, had wanted to walk up the aisle and have a family of her own but became "troubled" that she achieved neither. As her 30th birthday approached the self confessed "dizzy blonde" she said felt other members of her family were "doing better than her."

Fearing her boyfriend Anton Tsvarev, 30 would leave her, Miss Gow sent him a test message wishing him "all the best for the future" before poisoning herself at her home. Mr Tsvarev who had been visiting a friend later found Miss Gow but she died despite attempts by him to revive her.
