Big Names In Imo State Politics Never Supported Me - Rochas Okorocha

The Imo Governor, Rochas Okorocha has on Saturday 14th April 2018 assured the people of Imo State that his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, who he had earlier endorsed as his successor, won’t disappoint them.

Rochas Okorocha also said none of the big names in the state supported his governorship aspiration in 2011 and 2015 respectively, adding that he won the elections without the support of any of the political bigwigs in Imo politics.

He also said he won the governorship elections of 2011 and that of 2015 not on the basis of zoning but based on the support of the Imo people.

Okorocha spoke on Saturday evening when the leaders of the Ideato South Local Government Area paid a courtesy call on him at the Government House, Owerri.

The governor said, “In 2011, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Chief Arthur Nzeribe, Dr. Mrs. Kema Chikwe, Chief Hope Uzodinma, Chief Achike Udenwa, Emeka Ihedioha, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume were either in the Peoples Democratic Party or the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria.
“None of them was in the All Progressives Grand Alliance, but I confronted them and God gave us victory over them and we defeated an incumbent.
“When I visited the late Chief Odimegwu Ojukwu, I expected that he would come and raise my hand as the candidate of the party, but he could not do so because he fell sick before the time. Only God raised my hand and we won.”
