Three Women Sentenced To Two Years In Jail In Uyo for attempting to sell a person

Three ladies have been sentenced to two years in jail over a an attempt to sell a human being in Uyo, the state capital of Akwa Ibom.

The Nigerian ladies failed in their attempt to sell the human being, thus leading to their arrest and conviction.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons secured the conviction of Emem Udo Etim Okon, Uduak Ekpeyong, and Imaobong Nyong at a Federal High Court sitting in Uyo.

The attempted sale of a human being, is an act contrary to sections 21 and 29 of the TIPPEA 2015.
